Scent actually sounds different when i read it in my head vs when i read sent. my internal monologue is on board with 1/4 c. For the correct pronunciation, it does not matter. Many of us think that in the word ‘scent’ either ‘s’ is silent or ‘c’ is silent, but the reality is that neither of them is silent, ‘sc’ is together spelled as ‘s’ in the word.
